The Rubber City Book Posse is a dedicated group of Bookcrossing.com members in and around Akron, Ohio.
A group of Bookcrossers came together in late 2004, but it wasn’t until early 2005 that the group grew to the heights it features now. Talon2Claw set up the Yahoogroup, after the Meetup site switched over to a ‘pay to play’ type site, and with TinkEsq’s help, the meeting schedule regulated to the current schedule:
1st Tuesday evening of the month: 7pm–Barnes and Noble Cafe (Fairlawn, OH)
3rd Saturday afternoon of the month: 11am-3 pm–To Be Announced (Akron area, OH)
We expect anywhere from 5 members at a meeting to 15, but we’re always looking for more members and more ideas. So if you’re in the Akron area and are interested in becoming a part of the Rubber City Book Posse (Akron’s wildest (and only) group of Bookcrossers, contact us and come to an event. Hi. I am new to the yahoo group but I hoping to attend the Saturday event at the park. Is it ok to bring my baby (6 months old) and do I bring anything else other than some books to release (food to share etc)? We moved last fall and I have yet to unpack many many boxes of books, and may not get to it this week, so I don’t currently have a lot to release.
I may not get there anyway..I need to get my brakes fixed
